The Tri-River Police Training Region also referred to as Mobile Team Unit 16 (MTU16), a member of the Illinois Statewide System for In-Service Training (ASSIST) for continuous in-service training for current law enforcement officers. Our office is located in Plainfield and our primary goal is to deliver in-service training to law enforcement officers in the Will, Kankakee, and Grundy Counties.
We currently have over 65 member departments from our geographical area which represents over 2,000 Law Enforcement Officers. We also offer our services to State and Federal Law Enforcement Officers in our area.
The Tri-River Police Training Region Mobile Team Unit #16, was established and incorporated as a not for profit corporation under the laws of the State of Illinois. It operates by intergovernmental agreements as outlined in Article #5 Section #10 of the Constitution of Illinois and the intergovernmental Law Enforcement Officers In-Service Training Act, 85 ILCS/Section 561 of the Illinois Statutes.
